I’ve said many times before that I don’t really believe in fin­an­cial inher­it­ance sys­tems. I think they entrench wealth in unfair ways… but per­sonal inher­it­ance of sen­ti­mental items is another thing alto­gether.

I’m cata­loguing my books (slowly) with Lib­ra­r­yThing and I’ve just dis­covered that the copy of Chairman Mao’s Little Red Book that I inher­ited from my grand­father is a first edi­tion, printed by the for­eign press in Peking in 1966.
